FTC Compliance Affiliate Disclosure

FTC DISCLOSURE

The Federal Trade Commission has rules for Disclosure Compliance for online media. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, YouTube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link, product, or service. Listed below are several ways I offset costs associated with running a blog.

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site:

Most of the links on lucidhawaii.com and lucid-hawaii.com are affiliate links. This means that if you click on the link and buy certain items (like the books that we publish and sell), we will receive a small commission. The price is the same for you, though! Thank you for your support.

If I post an affiliate link to a product, it is something that we personally use, something our authors have personally created, something we support and/or would recommend, even without an affiliate link.

We may sometimes review items that are sent to us for free. All of our opinions regarding them are our own. We only endorse products that are in alignment with our values (see our ABOUT page) and that we believe would be of value to our readers.
If a post is sponsored by a company, we will disclose that within the post. We are very picky about what we recommend, and that holds true for sponsored posts. If it’s not something we would use, we won’t recommend it.

AMAZON DISCLOSURE: We sell most of our books on Amazon (most of our books are not available directly from us). We participate in the Amazon Services, LLC. Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to: amazon.com, endless.com, myhabit.com, smallparts.com, or amazonwireless.com. In other words, we do receive a commission for selling the books that we publish.
